When students look online for opportunities to serve and learn, it can be overwhelming to navigate through all the information available. Here, the Global Connections of the CCCM, has compiled a list of service and learning opportunities that are faith-based and with whom we have had good experiences.
Short Term (1 week to 3 months)
Casa Canadiense, Can-Nica partnership for community development – Offers opportunity to learn about Nicaragua and support community development. The casa regularly hosts student groups from Canada.
Companeros Inc, 613-331-0506 – Sustainability, social awareness, and community building through cross-cultural service learning experiences, gatherings, and resources. Delegations to Latin America.
Center for Global Education, Augsburg College, Minneapolis, MN 55454, 1- 800-299-8889, – Participate in cross cultural learning experiences (week, 2-week, semester long) in Mexico, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Guatemala, and Namibia and other countries throughout the globe
Development and Peace Solidarity Tours, Contact Youth Programs Officer, Shelley Burgoyne, 1-800-494-1401 ext. 230 – Travel to a country in the global south for two weeks to understand the struggles of the poor through meeting with community groups and Development and Peace partners
SERVE: Summer Endeavour in a Redemptorist Volunteer Experience -Toronto, Sudbury, Saskatoon & Edmonton, 3 week prayer, community and service experience for young adults from across Canada
Full Time (usually 6 months – year)
